Members of the Fairview Fire District is looking to assist anyone who has a medical condition, is elderly, on medications, lives by themselves, or has any other special needs that an emergency responder would need to know about in the event of an emergency. All members of the public are encouraged to come to the firehouse to assist with the File of Life Program. This program is a way to access medical information to emergency responders in the event of a medical emergency. The File of Life contains crucial information such as your name, address, date of birth, medical history, medications, allergies, and any other information that is important for a First Responder to know.
In the event of an emergency the stress of the situation can sometimes hinder effective communication between First Responders and the patients\family. This File of Life is able to curb that by giving us the information needed to treat someone who is sick or injured quickly. The files remain with the individual and no information is kept by Fairview Fire Distinct personnel. This is a free service to those who live in Fairview.
