For Immediate Release - Re. Fire at Pendell Commons

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On December 6th, 2016, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department arrested 63-year-old Suzanne Tucker, a resident of the town, following a fire at an apartment complex on November 22nd, 2016.  At the time of the incident, officers were requested by the Fairview Fire District as Tucker was reported to be uncooperative and continued to remain inside her apartment despite an active fire.   An investigation by the members of the police department, along with the Fire Investigation Division of the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response, determined Tucker had intentionally set two separate fires inside her apartment.

Tucker was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on the charges of Arson Third Degree (C-Felony) and Reckless Endangerment (D-Felony).  Tucker was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear on December 7, 2016.

No further comment will be made by the Fairview Fire District.  Any further inquiries in this matter can be made to Sgt. Gary Hulbert, Public Information Officer, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
