On May 4th at approximately 6:06 am, the Fairview Fire District was dispatched for an unknown type of fire on the old Hudson River Psychiatric Center site, now owned by Hudson Heritage.    Firefighters arrived to find an abandoned building on the site well involved with fire coming through the roof of the building.  A second alarm of fire was called bringing additional resources to the scene.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department, Roosevelt Fire District, New Hamburg Fire District, Arlington Fire District, Town of Poughkeepsie Police, Town of Poughkeepsie Water Department, Town of Poughkeepsie Fire Inspector, and the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response.  Relocating to the Fairview Fire station was the Roosevelt Fire District.

As of 10:30 am, Fairview personnel are still operating at the scene working to extinguish numerous hot spots.

There were no injuries to any fire service personnel.  The fire is currently under investigation.
